We have all had those embarrassing moments in life. Those times when we want to crawl under a rock or just disappear. We can all relate to these, but the one good thing is that we all have those moments and they are Normal, Human, Funny, Scary, and Life Lessons in Humbleness.
If you are like most of us, we have all had our share of them. I can clearly remember one time while I was in a classroom setting and a young woman was in my class. She had the same name as one of the Supervisors in my work place. I had assumed because she was quite young and the Supervisor was quite a bit older, that she was his daughter. So Open Mouth, Insert Foot, I said “Hi, It’s so nice to meet you! I know your father.” At that point she said “Oh you mean my Husband!” Ugh, Oh boy was I ever embarrased.
Another time, I was walking into work from the Parking Garage and as usual was in a hurry. I was getting ready to teach a class, and I had a huge folder of documents needed for the class. As I went to step up onto the curb, I tripped and OMG, the entire folder flew out of my hands and into the oncoming traffic. Papers were flying everywhere. Of course it couldn’t be a nice calm day, oh no, it was windy as hell. Papers were everywhere, and my collegues were all scrambling to help gather the papers. I of course was so embarrassed and humiliated. At that point I could have cared less about the papers.
These are just 2 of the many embarrassing moments i have had over my lifetime. But they build Character and you move on and shake it off and try to figure out what casused the embarrassament and what you can do to make sure it never happens again. Everything that happens in life, whether good or bad, is a life lesson. So take each moment and ask yourself, what is the lesson I should be learning from this experience.
Please Share your Most Embarrassing Moments and while doing so your sharing a Laugh with All of Us!
